So what if it's been four months....

So what... I haven't posted a blog in a THIRD of a year.... That means that A) I've been busy. and B) It's obviously not a high priority of mine to post..... I want to make it a higher priority, but I also want to make every NASCAR race a national holiday... Both probably won't happen... But if you are reading this, then on some level you care about what I think so I thank you....

It's ten fifteen on a Monday night and my wife is watching John and Kate plus Eight and I am looking for ANYTHING to do but homework.... The wear and tear of the semester is setting in and I am PRAYING I can get through this next month. Here's the deal.... I have to pass this semester with a 3.2 or it's over. I can't move on into upper division Business classes. Now you might say that a 3.2 is a piece of cake. It is. Until you know that your future scholastic career depends on it. I have had only two semesters in my EIGHT year college career (and what a fruitful career it has been!) that has been below that GPA, but it's those two semesters that has gotten me into this predicament. You see, when I was a young lad I decided to go up to the U and go into premed. BIG mistake on many levels. Turns out I was not interested AT ALL in premed, and I was VERY interested in chasing tail and football. So my grades reflected it. Fast forward nearly four years later and I am paying the price for those fantastic decisions I made.

Next thought... UTAH and BYU.... I hate BYU. I want them to lose every game they play by 106 points and go through three coaching changes every SEASON. I want their stands to be filled with nobody but a half dozen overweight coeds rooting on those KITTENS and that's it for their fan base... Any team that comes out at the first of the season with a motto of "Quest for PERFECTION" I have to seriously question mental status and rational. So needless to say, I was giddy with joy when they got SLAMMED by TCU. Now it's Utah's turn. Do I have any doubt the UTES will win? No. Will I be there to whiteness history again? Yes. Ill be on the sidelines for it. Will I feel any kind of remorse for the sorrowful state BYU will be in after? No. And I wouldn't expect any other TRUE fan on either side to feel any different....GO UTES

Now, as for the changes in both the economic landscape as well as the political landscape.... I'm not quite to the point of moving either north or south of the border, but I'm closer than I have ever been.... All I have to say is that the Dems, and the government as a whole, have two years to get us out of this mess or I can assure you that the END is closer than we think. I don't mean the end of the world, I mean the end of how we view life as we know it now. This change might have already occurred and we just haven't become cognizant of it. I was and am against this government bailout as presently constituted and feel that there were many different options that could have been pursued to stop the bleeding. Just throwing money at these banks isn't going to solve anything, and hasn't.. (just look at the news reports of what has happened to this 700 BILLION dollars so far...)(It's been over a month since that bill passed and what have the trusted banks done with the money that has been allocated so far? HOARDED IT...) I couldn't help but feel like we the American public were parents giving our teenager a blank check with the hope that they would spend it on college, when in reality they spent it on booze and clothes.... Now, it's not just on the government to change, it's on us. But I'm sorry to say that up to this point, I haven't exactly gained a whole lot of faith in the American masses. Too much greed and selfishness, and this bailout didn't help...

Finally, what's with the hate for the LDS church and Prop. 8? Talk about irony, California voted OVERWHELMINGLY Democrat, and yet voted FOR Prop. 8... Exit poles showed that the MAJORITY of MINORITY (Black and Hispanic) voters came out voting FOR OBAMA and FOR Prop. 8. Now does that sound like an LDS base? Do you think ANY of those individuals give a DAMN what the LDS church thinks? The Church could have pumped BILLIONS of dollars into a campaign for Prop. 8 and I guarantee you that none of those individuals would have given a hoot in hell IF, and that's a HUGE IF, THEY didn't truly believe in it's significance. Another thing, what about the over FIVE MILLION people that voted for the proposition? How many of those were card carrying members of the Church? Im willing to bet that if EVERY member of the Church voted for proposition 8, their percentage of total votes would be in the single digits.... So why the hate on the LDS church, homos? Why not go back to California and go after the people who ACTUALLY VOTED on the proposition? It's not like you're really going to get any reaction from a state that is still over EIGHTY PERCENT Mormon and from a Church that has withstood over a HUNDRED YEARS of this type of antagonistic behavior towards it... Go waist your energy on someone else....

So there, a few thoughts and feelings I've felt over the last few months.. Hope I didn't bore you too much (My wife and Mistie probably stopped reading this after the first paragraph...)
